About Joanne
I am an enthusiastic, engaged tutor who thoroughly enjoys thinking outside the box when it comes to teaching my students. I understand that for some, learning certain subjects may not come easily, and therefore I aim to apply different techniques to allow these students to learn and thrive.
In our lessons you can expect I am encouraging, warm and above all else, committed to helping you succeed. My unique experience as a child and youth counselor allows me to provide a different approach to teaching, one that is rooted in warmth, empathy, and evidence-based techniques.

I have unique experience in several industries that has allowed me to develop and refine my ability to teach my students.
Firstly, I have a background in early childhood and primary school teaching. Working in early childhood centers, primary schools and other settings. Through this experience I was able to develop skills that allowed me to teach children across all subjects.
Secondly, I have degrees in psychology and counseling and am now a director of my own child and teen psychology clinic. During this formal education I upheld Distinction and High Distinctions across all subjects.
My current role as director has taught me vital skills in empowering, encouraging and educating not only my staff, but my clients. I understand that each individual learns differently, and through my work as a therapist I have the pleasure of working with many different young minds.
I teach both primary school aged children, teens and adults. I also teach some university grade subjects, particularly in Psychology or similar.
