About Hannah
I am a newly qualified secondary English teacher and have taught both language and literature to students aged between 11-18 years old. I currently teach at an Ofsted rated 'outstanding' secondary school in central Bristol, working with students from an array of backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning styles and needs. Before I began teaching, I studied a BA Honours degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion, which involved creative, academic and persuasive writing. Outside of my studies and working life I write poetry, short stories and song lyrics - writing is my passion and the reason I decided to begin a career in teaching English.

To ensure that every student I teach makes progress each lesson, I work hard to create and teach engaging, enjoyable and memorable activities that inspire learning and a thirst for knowledge and understanding. This includes creative thinking or writing tasks, enlightening discussions and achievable aims that are clearly structured to enable all students to develop their English skills. A typical lesson will usually consist of stimulating visuals or questions to get students thinking, followed by short but highly effective activities that enable students to take ownership over their learning. My overall intention is for all students to leave every lesson with a new piece of knowledge, skill, or way of thinking.
