About Kristie
Hi! My name is Kristie, and I am a credentialed English teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Literature. Over the past two years, I have tutored students from kindergarten through graduate-level university, helping them build confidence in their reading and writing skills. I have taught high school English and supported elementary school students in developing foundational literacy skills. These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
No matter where you're starting from, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you grow. I want all of my students to leave each lesson equipped with the skills they need to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

My approach to tutoring is centered around building confidence first. I believe that when students believe in themselves, stronger outcomes follow. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to fit each student’s individual learning style and goals.
A typical lesson starts with identifying what the student is struggling with and what they hope to accomplish. From there, we work through concepts together step by step. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
What sets me apart is my experience working with students across a wide range of ages and learning levels, from kindergarten all the way through graduate-level university. In addition to tutoring students across these grade levels, I have taught high school English and supported literacy instruction in a first grade classroom. These experiences have taught me how to connect with students of all different ages and backgrounds.
