About Alexandra
I am a German native that recently graduated with a master's in Romance Studies. The last stage of my education was spent at San Diego State University. During these two terms, I furthered my ability to excel in new environments. While utilizing all resources available to grow and maintain my own academic success I developed the desire to also introduce these concepts and assets to other students and hence maximize their learning. I am certain that I will enthuse my students for the subjects I will be teaching considering my strong ability to interpret and explain theories and present different topics in an understandable, interesting manner. I will also do my utmost to transmit to my students skills in creative and critical thinking by encouraging free discussions of ideas in my classroom.

My goal is to encourage group-related learning activities in class. While I want to avoid group forming based on the students' academic success I will try to form groups that will change from class to class. Afterward, analyzing the group processes together with the students and/or other teaching subjects will bring to light the difficulties they experienced in regard to success on both an academic and a personal level. My aim is to make them understand that achieving their academic goal is only possible when upholding effective work relationships with their co-students. Most importantly, I want to make them aware of the fact that in a world with increasingly globalized communities they will be forced to establish work relationships with people from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. Through the interaction of different cultural and social groups, I strive to create an environment of understanding and mutual respect between the students. By the end, I want to encourage the idea of the classroom as a community that every student, alongside his background, can identify him or herself with.
Furthermore, I want to include authentic, if possible free learning material in class that can include theories, methods, texts, and literature from people of diverse backgrounds. With regard to discussions in class, I want them to appear more like everyday talk or the format of talk shows. In my opinion, leaving the path of conventional classroom recitation will lead to broad participation, allow every student to express his or her ideas, and meanwhile induce a respectful interaction with the other.

It is with the greatest pleasure that I recommend Alexandra.
I have met this student at the San Diego State University, when she was my student in my Span 341 “Latin American Civilization” class, during the Fall semester of 2019. From the beginning, I was truly impressed by the quality and originality that this student brought to both of these classes and in her work. Even though Mrs. Adomaitis is not a native Spanish speaker, she was able from the beginning of the class, to follow and contribute actively to every topic, what made her presence absolutely crucial for this class success’. This student was the best in this class, demonstrating an active interest, commitment, and perseverance. In my several years I have spent at the San Diego State University and the University of Michigan, I have never encountered a better student, and I wish more of my students have her intelligence and hard-working ethics as she did.
Besides her outstanding performance in class, this student showed a remarkable interest outside the classroom too. She was consistently present during office hours and making appointments to talk about her future written works. Her interest and tenacity showed outstanding results. For her first essay this student did a detailed close reading about Coco Fusco and Guillermo López Peña’s performance short movie “The Couple in the Cage”, supporting the hypothesis questioning how the narrative built in the short, influence the spectator on the message it wants to communicate. For her second essay she did a similar essay analyzing Patricio Guzmán’s movie La batalla de Chile. For her final essay, Mrs. Adomaitis wrote about the symbolic and metaphorical dis-connection between how indigenous people are depicted in different movies and their present struggles, focusing in that tension presented in the movie También la Lluvia. All these essays were the best ones int the class, showing an exceptional talent for political and cultural critique, which only equals to her performance in class and during her visits to my office hours.
This student has outstanding analytical skills and an intelligence beyond average. Her persistence and hard work let her to be the best student in both of these classes. To the best of my knowledge, her outstanding performance is not exclusive Spanish classes. My opinions and expectations for this student cannot be higher. I have seen this student flourish through her studies at San Diego State University. She has one of the best hard-working ethics I have ever seen, and it has been a true pleasure to work with her: I would like there to be more students engaged in their education as she is.
Due to her persistence, professionalism, skills, and engagement, I give her my highest recommendation. I cannot think of a better tutor. This is a promising professional and you will benefit significantly from her. She is an exceptional human being and I am confident that she will become a remarkable professional and a great influence on her community in the near future if she accesses the proper means.
