About Cyla
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Smith College, and an MEd in Mathematics education with substantial statistics graduate work from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. My passion for mathematics and to help people led me to teaching. I am originally from Brazil and can speak Spanish and Portuguese in addition to English.

My lessons are student-centered and activity-based with activities designed for the unique individual students' learning styles. I try to incorporate data collection and analysis as part of the lesson plans whenever possible to have students connect the math to the real world.
I have taught all grades of high school, and currently teach college.
