About Hazel
Fully qualified Biology and Science teacher with 10+ years experience, currently working in a local secondary school. I have a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and Sports Science and a Postgraduate degree in Education.
As a practising teacher, I have up-to-date knowledge of SQA (QS) courses, assessment requirements, and exam techniques. This allows me to provide focused support that helps students improve their understanding, confidence, and results.

My tutoring style is friendly, engaging, and tailored to each student. I use a range of study techniques, memory aids, and simple tips and tricks to help students remember key information and make sense of difficult topics.
Problem-solving and exam skills are often the areas where students drop marks so we can focus on this and work through exam-style questions, identifying common mistakes, and developing strategies to help approach these questions with confidence.

Details
Sessions are tailored to each student's needs, whether that's building confidence, improving understanding, developing exam technique, or preparing for assessments. I charge £40 an hour for 1-2-1 tutoring and offer very good value for money. Homework can be given and marked upon request and would be included within this price.
