About Amaya
Having completed school in 2023, I remember how difficult it can be to excel in humanities subjects, especially as the mark schemes for exams are notoriously difficult to understand. Therefore, I hope to pass on the skills in analysis, evaluation and close reading which I have developed through school and my current degree, to help other pupils achieve similarly high grades.
I love reading and writing, and all things English, and I want to cultivate that in other students. Although the pressure of essay-writing can seem daunting and make people hate the subject as a whole, I strongly believe that guidance and tutoring can turn it into something enjoyable.

I believe that it is important to understand the (often confusing) essay mark schemes for English, so I will base my lessons on the different aspects of these, as well as going over content for revision. We will draft essays that they find difficult, including planning and marking, and I will guide them through improving their work based on the mark scheme. This will ensure students' comprehensive ability to write to a high standard in essays and impress teachers and examiners.
I will also make my lessons collaborative. I know that different students can thrive with different learning methods, so I will ask for their input in what techniques work best for them.
