About Sophie
I am a third-year Geography student at the University of Bristol, where I consistently achieve high First-class marks and have been formally commended for achieving one of the highest marks in my year. I achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE and a high A* at A-level Geography, giving me a strong understanding of what examiners look for at both levels. I tutor GCSE and A-level Geography across all exam boards, with a clear focus on helping students achieve high marks in exam questions. My teaching is professional, well-structured, and tailored to each student’s specification and goals. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, clear written answers, and confident application of knowledge, so students are fully prepared to perform under exam conditions.

My approach to geography tutoring is personal, exam-focused, and driven by achieving high marks. I achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE and a high A* at A-level Geography, and I use the same strategies that worked for me to help students succeed. Lessons focus on building clear understanding of physical and human geography, then applying that knowledge directly to exam questions, with a strong emphasis on structure, command words, and precision so students consistently access top-level marks. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with longer 90-minute sessions available for intensive revision or coursework support. I tutor all exam boards and tailor lessons to the student’s specification and confidence level. For A-level students, I also provide structured NEA support, including help with shaping research questions, analysing and presenting data, and strengthening evaluation, while ensuring all work remains the student’s own. I work with GCSE and A-level students of all abilities, always focusing on turning understanding into exam performance and higher grades.
