About Rabia
Hiii I'm Rabia. I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of York and have developed a strong foundation in biology and related sciences throughout my degree. My course has involved extensive scientific communication, laboratory work, presentations and group projects, which have helped me develop the ability to explain complex scientific ideas clearly and communicate effectively with others. I have also supported peers and worked collaboratively throughout my studies, and I enjoy helping others understand subjects that they may initially find difficult.

My approach to tutoring
I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and are encouraged to understand why something works, rather than simply memorising information.
I use a combination of explanation, questioning, worked examples and practice activities to help students develop both their understanding and confidence. I adapt my teaching style depending on the student, using visual explanations, diagrams and real-world examples where helpful. I also like to identify areas that a student finds challenging and gradually build their confidence by breaking more difficult topics into manageable steps.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although I am happy to adapt the length depending on the student's age, needs and subject.
My lessons are primarily aimed at school-age students studying Biology and related sciences, particularly GCSE and A-Level students. I am happy to work with students of different abilities, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding of the basics, prepare for exams, or challenge themselves to achieve higher grades.
