About Anna
I’m Anna or Murph, whatever works for you! I’m an avid lover of all things English; creative writing, reading, analysis, you name it! Math and I have a more neutral relationship but I understand the importance of its skills in everyday life.
I understand asking for tutoring and identifying “weak” spots may be a daunting task. But as your tutor, I want you to know I’ve been in your shoes. I felt so lost during my school years, feeling that I wasn’t smart enough or capable. But my tutor helped me to realize that I just wasn’t listening to my own brain. I hope that through working together, we can figure out what works best for you and how you can take that into your classroom.

As someone who needed tutoring as a teenager, I understand how valuable it can be in helping students connect what they learn at school to their existing knowledge and build confidence. I tailor each lesson to focus on the areas the student (and/or their parents) feel need the most attention.
Lesson lengths can range from 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the student’s availability and comfort.
For primary school students, I offer support in both English and Mathematics. For high school students, I specialize in English, including Standard and Advanced (or equivalent) English for Years 11 and 12.
While I do not have formal tutoring experience, I have spent the past two years supporting students with homework in my role as an OSHC educator, as well as assisting students during my teaching placements over the last year.
