About Yuqi
I genuinely enjoy helping people improve and gain confidence in their subjects. There’s something rewarding about seeing a concept finally click for a student; when they understand why something works, not just how to memorise a method. I believe real learning happens when students grasp the reasoning behind a topic, and I find it fulfilling to guide them to that point of understanding. Teaching allows me to make a meaningful impact on someone’s academic journey while sharing subjects I’m passionate about.

My teaching approach is structured and exam-focused. I begin each lesson by explaining the topic and ensuring the student understands the underlying concepts. Then, I demonstrate how to apply this knowledge to exam-style questions. Once the student is confident, we work through practice questions together, with increasing independence. I place a strong emphasis on past paper practice, particularly identifying key command words, understanding examiners’ expectations, and structuring answers for full marks. Typical length of a lesson: Lessons are typically 60 minutes, though I can adapt based on the student’s needs and preferences. Your qualifications/experience as a tutor: I have experience tutoring both GCSE and A-level students in Maths and Economics. I achieved AAA* in Maths, Further Maths, and Economics at A-level, and I am currently studying Economics at the London School of Economics. Who the lessons are for (level, age, etc.): I tutor GCSE and A-level students, typically aged 14 to 18, who are looking to strengthen their understanding of Maths and Economics and improve exam technique.
