About Jack
I am from the United States, and growing up, one of my passions was reading and writing. From my earliest years, I appreciated English class, basking in the wonder of authors and all that was possible through writing. That said, learning in this field occurred, for me, through rigorous study and collaborative work.
This brings me to why I want to tutor: English class can be tricky, no matter what level you are at. But as a helping hand, I realize that I can use my love of the subject so that the student may find it a little easier. Furthermore, I hope to aid the development of a passion for English, or, if the student already has one, to simply help them along in this journey.

My general approach to teaching/tutoring is offering the student a chance to arrive at answers and conclusions, but ultimately guiding them to the right ones. In doing this, I hope to allow their thinking to flourish in a safe yet challenging environment.
The typical length of a lesson ranges from thirty minutes to an hour, depending on the student's availability and schedule. Additionally, my range of lessons is wide: I cover anything from basic reading comprehension and grammatical skills to argumentative essay writing.
