About Evie
Hiya! I’m currently an undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh studying English Literature and History. I began tutoring at the beginning of my first year as a way to bring in some income whilst being able to help younger students in a subject I’m deeply passionate about. At university I have been able to study additional subjects such as Classical Civilisations and Philosophy, allowing me to broaden my academic knowledge whilst honing in on my reading and understanding of literature and the historical context in which pieces were written. I particularly enjoy tutoring as it not only allows me to support students through areas I myself have enjoyed or perhaps even struggled with and over come, as well as providing recent tips for exam stress, preparation and time management. I didn’t always find it easy, but I came away with top grades and so I hope to help students going through their school experience to achieve what they need to take the next step, whatever that may be for them.

I take a personal and passionate approach to tutoring with specific experience with one-to-one sessions. I tailor my lessons to the student’s specific needs and am committed to drawing out the strengths in the subject as well as fine tuning areas for improvement. I try and make by lessons fun and pressure-free, whilst working with the student to achieve a goal. I love English so much and truly hope that through my tutoring you will begin to too!
