About Simran
Currently I am a law student at the University of Edinburgh and had obtained A*A*A at A level. Tutoring and mentoring students is something that had started off as a passion to help my younger brothers through their GCSEs but later flourished to helping children across the UK ranging from KS3 to GCSE with developing and focusing on exam questions and aiming for the higher bands. I have provided online lessons on a Tutoring Platform since the start of 2023 and prior and taught in-person lessons for 3 years to children within the locality of Bedfordshire

My teaching style is primarily interactive and led by breaking down a question with you, identifying what's being assessed and skyrocketing through it until you are confident to tackle it too. Currently I am a law student at the University of Edinburgh and had obtained A*A*A at A level. Tutoring and mentoring students is something that had started off as a passion to help my younger brothers through their GCSEs but later flourished to helping children across the UK ranging from KS3 to GCSE with developing and focusing on exam questions and aiming for the higher bands. I have provided online lessons on a Tutoring Platform since the start of 2023 and prior and taught in-person lessons for 3 years to children within the locality of Bedfordshire. My teaching style is primarily interactive and led by breaking down a question with you, identifying what's being assessed and skyrocketing through it until you are confident to tackle it too. The start of my lessons will consist of starters such as providing examples of language techniques such as semantic fields and then by the end, being able to deploy them in creative writing pieces for instance. Each lesson is designed to have a goal at the end and many of my students walk away being able to master embedding techniques in their writing which at the start, they'd have struggled to define. Having an understanding of a mark scheme such as those by the current English AQA exam board is of paramount importance to best support and advise students on hitting the assessment objectives set out and tailor responses to best yield higher marks. Whilst being able to support children striving for strong passes in their studies, having studied English and Geography at higher level, I am also passionate about helping students hit Grade 8's and 9's in their GCSEs whilst also supporting A Level English Students. My aim is still to make these grades achievable to all my students by opening up ways to get ahead and really consolidate your learning. From exam tips about revision to any questions you may have about areas you are struggling with in the classroom. I aim to be a personal tutor that truly helps you excel and build confidence.
