About Alisdair
My name is Ali and wish to help students better understand and enjoy the subject of history. Whilst I have done very limited tutoring in history directly at this level, I have been both a mentor throughout school both academically and in sport. As a result, I have been able to develop clear and effective communication skills and have the ability to develop good interpersonal relationships

I would teach history in two different ways - first I want to help students understand the content that they are learning and how to analyse it with application to the overall topic; and secondly I would help them with essay technique, allowing the students the possibility of achieving the top grades. Personally, I got an 'A' in history for A-level and got a first in my second year of undergraduate history at the University of Exeter so would say I could particularly help A-level students who are struggling with grasping the content and need help with analysing effective arguments and writing convincing essays.
