About Hugh
Hey, I'm Huey.
I understand maths is not everyone's favourite subject at school. It can be difficult and tedious and doesn't always make sense. But when you crack a tricky problem and find the answer you're looking for, it's a great feeling.
I'm not a natural borne studier. I enjoy solving problems and finding different ways to do it. However, like you, I don't enjoy sitting at a computer or staring at an exercise book for hours on-end. I want to find the answer as quickly and simply as possible. I want to help you understand maths: what exactly you're trying to find, how to find it, why we're even interested in finding it.
I always take an encouraging approach. For two reasons:
1. People consistently engage and perform better when they find some enjoyment in the learning process.
2. Some people believe they simply cannot do "Maths." An encouraging approach, challenges this. From past experience, people are far more capable than they believe. A small error in an equation or slight misunderstanding of what they're being asked to solve can make maths disheartening. My role is to catch these small slips, and help build your undertsanding. Giving you better results and, hopefully, a bit more enjoyment.

I tutor both high-school and primary-school students. From Year 12 students completing: Specialist Mathematics, Mathematic Methods and General Mathematics subjects. To basic numeracy for those in Foundation Year and Year 1.
I currently study Postgraduate Mathematics at UQ, under Professor Dr. Joseph Grotowski (PhD). I recieved a Bachelor or Business (Mjr. Finance) from QUT.
I've previously worked within public libraries, desinging and delivering after-school programs which aim to encourage STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) principles and skillsets in children and young-adults.
Current Blue Card.
I am flexible in lesson length. Between 1-3 hours, depending upon the student.
