I think the connection between a student and teacher is really important. If I am boring or not liked by the student, it is more than likely they will not learn much in my class. Which is precisely why I try to reenforce my relationship with each of my students. I genuinely care. Lastly, I don't believe grades from exams/tests are a correct portrayal of a student's intelligence.
