About Ariba
Hi, my name is Ariba and I'm currently studying English Literature at Durham. I've always had a passion for Literature which will become clear through our lessons. I am known for being friendly and approachable and I enjoy meeting new people. I'm committed to creating a safe, comfortable learning environment and tailoring lessons to suit your needs and interests. My experience in tutoring will ensure you receive high-quality lessons in which I am able to identify your strengths and weaknesses so the lessons are as beneficial to you as possible.

At A level, I achieved A*, A*, A in History, Philosophy and English. I also have 9 GCSEs from grades 6-9, including a 7 in Maths and 8s in both English Literature and English Language. For six months, I worked at ‘Scholars Tuition’ which involved tutoring Key Stage 1 to GCSE students in Maths, Science and English with a focus on English. I’ve also had experience privately tutoring Key Stage 3 English students. My friendly approach, and capacity to multi-task and plan lessons have led to significant grade improvement and fantastic results in school tests. My literacy skills can also be demonstrated through the numerous law work experiences I have undertaken as well as the creative writing competitions I have won. My passion for literature and writing has enabled me to lead engaging lessons with a positive learning environment in which the students feel comfortable.
I approach lessons with tailored support depending on the student's abilities, targets, and areas they need to work on. I’m a firm believer in exploring different learning styles and recognising what suits the student the best. No child is the same and their education should be suited to their interests. This is why I offer one-to-one teaching as it is exceptionally advantageous for the student’s needs and essential for academic growth.
Lessons include assessing the student’s needs, focusing on any target areas, and regular testing to ensure they’re retaining information from the lessons. Small amounts of homework will be set in order to ensure the students are retaining the content covered in lessons.
The typical lengths of my lessons are one or two hours but other timings can be negotiated. My lessons are targeted for Key Stage 1 to GCSE in English Literature.
