About Peggy
Professional Experience:
I am currently employed in a supplemental instructional role (sometimes called a teaching assistant or embedded tutor) at a Community College in Southern California. I work in the classroom, hosting workshops and lectures, paper reviews, and more for students.
I have also been a freelance tutor since 2019, with a number of long-term clients ranging from high school to graduate school (so I can always provide a reference).

I create individualized plans dependent upon the client/student's needs. What sets me apart from others is that I have significant experience in academic writing for presentations as well as experience in academic/business book publishing. These experiences have given me a great source of knowledge regarding how research and style are applied to academic writing for a well-informed audience (such as professors!). My flexibility in scheduling as a result of working in college classrooms is also beneficial for many students.
Lesson Planning:
When working with high school students, we tend to focus on reading comprehension, essay writing, and application preparation.
When working with undergraduate students, we tend to focus on media literacy, researching skills, thesis writing, and academic/paper writing.
When working with graduate-level students, we tend to focus on manuscript revision methods and form.

Details
I charge roughly $25 - $50 per hour, depending on the work. Long term clients (6 months - 1 year) can expect a consistent, set rate meaning there will not be an increase over time, even if you move on to college/graduate school.
High School:$25-$35
