About Jaylynn
I have had a love for teaching and helping others in an academic capacity for as long as I can remember. As I am continuing in my own education, I am making a continuous effort to become better equipped to help and care for my students' individual needs. I am a firm believer in the fact that our learning never ends! I enjoy working one-on-one with students because I feel it is a great way to facilitate a space where an individual's skills can be focused on and grown. I hope to not only help students in an academic capacity, but to help build lasting confidence in themselves and their abilities!

I begin every tutoring session by asking the student what they are hoping to get out of our meeting(s). I believe it is important for individuals to take ownership of their work and gain an understanding of what they can improve upon. I understand and empathize with the fact that writing and the English language can, at times, be a very frustrating thing to navigate. This frustration can morph into a lack of confidence in oneself. My hope is that through my tutoring and teaching, I can help to build students' confidence in their ability to navigate challenging situations.
My experience is primarily with high school and college students. However, I do have experience teaching and working individually with children as young as nine years old.
