About Matthew
I am most known for being a grand finalist in BBC Young Dancer after winning in the contemporary category and playing the lead role of Pinocchio at the Danish Royal Theatre.
My most important choreographic work was created for autistic young people in partnership with National Autistic Society and funded by Arts Council England. I have subsequently given workshops on autism-friendly performances for Pavilion Dance South West and Chichester Festival Theatre.
I have worked in the UK and Europe and have an MA from Middlesex University in London. (Before this I trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance)

-Norrdans (Sweden)
-Holstebro Dance Company (Denmark)
-Betty Nansen Teater (Denmark)
I have choreographed for organisations including Nordic Theatre Laboratory, The Arches Worcester Festival, Homotopia, SICK! Festival, Tramshed Theatre, Merseyside Dance Initiative and Corn Exchange Newbury.
I love working with contemporary dance techniques including Cunningham, Graham and Floorwork. We can also look at choreography and improvisation. I can also teach a ballet barre focused towards whatever your goals might be!
As I have an Masters in Dance, I am also happy to take students wishing to work on writing about dance.

Perfect! Calm gentle instruction.
Perfect! My daughter enjoys her lessons with Matthew. He’s is an encouraging and positive teacher. Helping my daughter to keep up her contemporary training, and helping with advice and inspiration for her to develop her own peice of choreography. Matthew also helped with Auditon prep, so that my DD felt ready and prepared. She was successful in gaining a place at her first choice school.
