About Addison
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys learning and believes that curiosity should be encouraged, not pressured. I’m a Dartmouth College graduate, and my academic experience there reinforced my belief that understanding grows best when students feel relaxed, engaged, and supported—learning doesn’t have to feel rigid to be effective.
I bring a sense of humor, flexibility, and enthusiasm into my work, and I try to make sessions feel collaborative rather than intimidating. Whether we’re working through an essay, unpacking a difficult reading, or building study strategies, I focus on helping students feel capable and confident in their own thinking. I’m a lifelong learner myself, and I love sharing that mindset—showing students that learning is something you do with curiosity, not something you endure.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I begin by identifying where a student feels confident and where they feel stuck, then build lessons that break material into manageable, understandable steps. A typical session includes reviewing current coursework, working through examples together, and practicing strategies students can apply independently.
I specialize in English, writing, reading comprehension, and study skills for middle school, high school, and university-level students. What sets me apart is a mentorship-first approach—I focus not just on improving grades, but on helping students gain confidence, ask better questions, and develop tools they can use long after our sessions end.
