About Lindsey
My career began in the classroom, where I spent five years teaching 3rd-grade students. This experience gave me a strong foundation in creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons and managing diverse learning needs. During my time as a school counselor, I developed a deep understanding of student development, emotional intelligence, and how to support students in both their academic and personal growth. In 2021, I earned my TEFL certificate from the INTERNATIONAL TEFL Academy, which opened doors to my role as an English tutor. Over the past four years, I have worked with students from various educational institutions, helping them improve their English skills across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I tailor my lessons to meet the unique needs of each student, whether they are preparing for exams, improving their communication skills for work, or seeking fluency for personal growth.

Warm-up (5-10 minutes): I begin with a short, engaging activity or discussion to activate prior knowledge and set the tone for the lesson. This could be a vocabulary review, a short conversation, or a fun icebreaker.
Introduction to New Material (15-20 minutes): I present the lesson’s core content, whether it’s grammar, vocabulary, reading, or listening practice. This could involve explaining a new concept, reading a passage, or showing a video. I ensure students understand the context and purpose of the new material.
Guided Practice (15-20 minutes): Students apply their knowledge through controlled practice activities such as fill-in-the-blank exercises, short dialogues, or grammar drills. I guide them through the process and provide feedback as they work.
Independent Practice (10-15 minutes): Students complete tasks on their own to reinforce the lesson. This could include writing a paragraph, giving a short presentation, or solving real-world problems using the new language.
