About Ivette
Hola mis queridos estudiantes, My name is profesora Galarza and I am originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. I graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish & Global and Area Studies, and a minor in Portuguese with a specialization in Latin America & Caribbean Studies. Later on in 2014, I graduated from my alma mater with a Master of Arts in Hispanic Literatures. I love teaching Spanish and using culture as a way to learn a new language. I have high expectations of all my students. I will work hard with you to help you achieve any language or professional goal you may have. Vamos a trabajar juntos!

I use the Communicative Language Teaching method approach when teaching Spanish. I graduated from Michigan State University with a master's degree in Spanish literature and worked with outstanding professors in the field of second language acquisition. I have over 10 years of teaching experience. I have worked at Michigan State, University of Connecticut and American River College. I'm currently teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture at East Palo Alto. I have taught beginning and intermediate Spanish courses. My focus is to prepare students for the AP exam and also offer tutoring to support students in all levels of Spanish classes.
