About Nash
I am a piano tutor with 14 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Piano Studies. Alongside teaching, I work as a composer and performer, which helps me bring real-world experience into my lessons. I believe music is a lifelong journey, and my goal is to inspire students to enjoy every step of that path. I have worked with musicians of all levels—from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for exams or performances. My teaching style is patient and adaptable, focusing on building strong technique while nurturing creativity. I emphasize understanding music deeply, not just playing notes, so students can express themselves fully. As a performer, I share insights on stage presence and interpretation. As a composer, I encourage students to explore their own musical ideas. I enjoy helping students find their unique voice and grow their confidence. Music has been a huge part of my life, and I am passionate about sharing that love with others. Whether you want to learn for fun or pursue a professional path, I am here to guide and support you. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in piano while encouraging creativity and personal expression. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, whether they want to play classical pieces, jazz improvisation, or popular music. Along with practical playing skills, I emphasize music theory to help students understand how music works.
I prepare students for exams like ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Levels by following their curriculum closely and providing regular practice and feedback. Lessons include sight-reading, technique, and performance skills. I also teach music history to give students a deeper appreciation of different styles and composers.
For those interested in creating their own music, I offer guidance in composition and improvisation. This helps students develop their unique voice on the piano. Jazz and pop learners receive special support to improve rhythm, harmony, and stylistic techniques. I focus on helping students excel by adapting lessons to their pace and strengths.
My goal is to make learning piano enjoyable and rewarding. Every student’s progress is important, and I encourage confidence through consistent practice and positive reinforcement.
