About Lori
I have 48 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Education in Algebra and Mathematical Thinking. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped students from diverse educational backgrounds build strong algebraic foundations through patient instruction, structured lessons, and individualized mentoring. Watching learners develop confidence and discover enjoyment in mathematics continues to inspire my commitment to education.
One learner initially struggled with algebraic identities because remembering relationships between expressions without true understanding often led to mistakes. Together we explored visual demonstrations, pattern recognition activities, and logical derivations that helped the student understand why each identity worked. Through consistent practice and thoughtful reflection, the learner became highly confident solving complex algebraic problems and achieved outstanding examination results.
I believe every learner benefits from an encouraging classroom where curiosity, perseverance, collaboration, and independent thinking are consistently supported. My lessons promote meaningful discussion, careful reasoning, and continuous improvement while helping students appreciate mathematics as a valuable lifelong skill.
Outside teaching, I enjoy developing mathematics enrichment programs, studying innovative educational practices, and creating engaging instructional resources that simplify advanced algebraic concepts. These interests continually enhance my teaching while providing students with rewarding and meaningful learning experiences. I would be delighted to help you achieve confidence and excellence in algebra.

My teaching philosophy focuses on helping students recognize algebra as a practical and logical system that supports analytical thinking across many disciplines. Every student begins with a comprehensive evaluation of prior mathematical knowledge, learning preferences, and long-term educational goals. This allows me to create an individualized learning plan that develops conceptual understanding while encouraging confidence, independence, and continuous academic improvement.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, graph analysis, polynomial operations, factorization, rational and irrational expressions, exponential functions, logarithmic equations, quadratic modeling, systems of equations, algebraic identities, sequences and series, and introductory mathematical proofs. Every lesson combines interactive discussions, visual demonstrations, guided investigations, collaborative exercises, and structured independent practice that strengthen conceptual understanding while improving logical reasoning and mathematical communication. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking, compare solution methods, and approach challenging problems with confidence.
Real-world applications from aerospace engineering, economics, computer programming, data analysis, architecture, environmental science, and business operations demonstrate the importance of algebra beyond the classroom. Students complete investigative assignments, mathematical modeling projects, cumulative revision activities, and analytical reasoning tasks that strengthen long-term retention while promoting independent problem-solving skills. Regular progress evaluations ensure instruction remains personalized and responsive to individual learning needs.
Students preparing for school examinations, board assessments, SAT, ACT, university entrance examinations, or competitive mathematics tests receive individualized preparation through comprehensive revision schedules, diagnostic assessments, examination strategies, timed practice papers, and continuous performance reviews. Personalized feedback enables students to strengthen weak areas while developing confidence for academic success.
