About Saya
Hi, my name is Saya and I am originally from Okinawa, Japan but I have dual citizenship here in the U.S. With my background, I speak both Japanese and English fluently and I can also read and write in both languages. I lived in Japan until I graduated high school in which I studied Japanese but also took the International Baccalaureate (IB) course and obtained my IB diploma. I am a working college student who loves to help and teach others who are in need of help or assistance. I am comfortable teaching to all different ages from young children to adults. I know some younger students are more comfortable being taught by someone who is a bit closer to their age, so I can definitely help with that.
I've had a few tutoring opportunities in the past and I pride in my social skills which really helps with the tutoring sessions and getting the students less nervous and more excited! As a bilingual individual, I am confident that I can help you learn English as a second language (ESL) and Japanese as a second language (JSL), both at beginner and intermediate levels.
