About Shan
I am a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) candidate at Samuel Merritt University with extensive clinical training through hospital-based rotations. Having completed my undergraduate degree at CUNY Hunter College majoring in Biology. My education includes advanced coursework and hands-on experience in anatomy, biomechanics, pathology, radiographic interpretation, and clinical decision-making. As well as pre-med coursework such as anatomy, biology, physiology, biochemistry, etc.

I have experience tutoring fellow undergrads and podiatry students in both one-on-one and small-group settings. I like to break down complex topics into clear and easily digestible formats, especially for exams and clinical rotations. Active recall, integration of topics with other subjects really helps the students I tutored hone in on their skills and succeed in their coursework.
Tutoring is especially rewarding to me, and as someone in the healthcare field, teaching is a constant part of my training. I mentor underclassmen and peers on both clinical and didactic material, helping them develop effective study strategies and confidence in applying concepts to real patient scenarios. Giving back and helping the next generation is important to me, in the same way my upperclassmen helped guide and shape my development throughout my training.
