My approach to tutoring secondary mathematics is student centered and rooted in the latest educational research, leveraging my dual roles as a secondary math teacher and doctoral candidate. I don't just solve problems. I focus on developing your conceptual understanding and mathematical resilience. My teaching method employs a "See It, Try It, Explain It" technique. First examine the core concept (See It), then move to guided practice (Try It), before you demonstrate mastery by articulating the process and reasoning in your own words (Explain It). A typical lesson plan begins with a quick review and a check for understanding on prior topics. The core of the session involves dissecting a new concept or challenging area, utilizing visual aids, real world examples, and problem solving strategies tailored to your learning style. We conclude with an assessment to show retention and set the focus for the next session. This systematic approach ensures that students not only get the right answers but truly grasp the underlying mathematical structure.
What truly sets me apart is my specialization across all secondary math levels, from Pre-Algebra and Algebra I to Geometry, Algebra II, Calculus, and even AP Statistics.
