About Ayrice
Hailing from the beautiful two-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, I'm a doctoral student in Vocal Performance at Ball State University with a passion for helping singers find their voice. I have over 20 years of performance experience in choirs, recitals, and opera, plus six years of private teaching experience.
I hold a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and have been actively performing since 2012. My philosophy is simple: we never stop learning. As your teacher, I will meet you where you are and guide you to becoming a better singer than you were yesterday.
My students at Ball State have found success in their juries, and I'm dedicated to providing a supportive and encouraging environment for everyone I teach. I'm always prompt with communication and am comfortable teaching on various platforms like Skype and Zoom to ensure a seamless learning experience.

I believe that every voice is unique, and my teaching approach is built on this core principle. My goal is to help you discover and love your true voice, build your confidence, and unlock your natural musical instincts. We'll work together to lay a solid foundation in vocal technique and musical expression.
Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, whether you're a music major or singing for the first time. We'll focus on the essential skills necessary for healthy and expressive singing, including:
Vocal Production: Breath support, posture, and resonance to ensure a beautiful and sustainable sound.
Repertoire: Selecting music that fits your voice and helps you grow as an artist.
Music Theory: Pitch, rhythm, and sight-reading skills to strengthen your musicianship.
Musicality: Communicating the emotion and story behind every piece.
A typical lesson begins with vocal warm-ups designed specifically for your voice. We'll then work on your chosen repertoire, always discussing the music and focusing on how it helps you improve. I am committed to creating a supportive and collaborative environment where you can thrive.
