About Jorge
I have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. I am a huge advocate of higher education and that is why I co-direct a non-profit called Research Experience for Peruvian Undergraduates (REPU) program, that provides scientific internships and personalized tutoring to Peruvian undergrads in STEM. I have mentored undergrad students via the REPU program and graduate students at Vanderbilt University in the last five years. Currently, I do scientific writing, I keep mentoring students to develop their scientific communication skills, and I am an online tutor for the subjects of Spanish, English and Biology related topics.

My lessons are very practical, I will encourage you to talk, write, listen and repeat. It is a safe space to make mistakes and learn from them. Also, I let students be creative with their written and oral stories. Personally, I bring my perspective as a native speaker, not only to teach the polite way of saying things, but also what is commonly used in Latin countries. Additionally, I like to add some cultural knowledge about Latin America, and my other interests such as science and music.
