About Rikhart
I love teaching. My command of the English language is great enough that I have progressed to the highest level of education - a doctorate degree. I have given both professional and academic presentations, briefings and lectures in English. I am proficient in Word, PowerPoint and other software. I am a published academic. However, while all of this is good, it is not satisfying if I cannot share my knowledge and experience with others. Since I have traveled a lot and my wife and family are from another country, I have a particular interest in helping people whose first language is not English. Empowering non-native English speakers is a source of happiness for me.

Summary of my approach to teaching:
- I identify wants and needs of the student(s). Do they need vocabulary, grammar, reading skills, writing skills, conversational English, all of the above or something else?
- I build lesson plans around those needs. I tailor the lessons to the student(s). I assess student progress to make sure we are going in the right direction. I make changes as needed.
- I provide CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to the student(s). I never criticize or demean the student(s). All interactions must be positive in nature. As a second language learner myself, I know that learning a new language is not always easy. I respect my students and want them to succeed.
- I let the student(s) have a chance to tell me if I am meeting their wants and needs. I adjust lessons and approach if needed to make the best chance for success.

Details
The $25 per hour rate is for a single student. A discount may be offered for multiple students - but only if they receive instruction at the same time and place. Student(s) will be charged full price for missed classes unless alternate arrangements were made and agreed to by the instructor beforehand. Transportation fee is for travel of 25 kilometers or less. Additional distance will result in higher transportation costs. If the Instructor is asked to teach a classroom of students, alternate fees shall be arranged.
