About Peter
I'm Peter Dobbin, a concept artist, illustrator and storyboard artist based in East London. I've spent over 30 years working professionally in games, film and entertainment: with studios including Sony, Microsoft and Electronic Arts, across characters, environments, VR and storyboarding.
Drawing has always been at the centre of what I do. Away from client work I attend regular life drawing sessions and have an active sketchbook practice, it keeps me sharp and it's genuinely something I love. That enthusiasm comes into my teaching.
I'm currently completing a graphic novel anthology... written and illustrated entirely by me, which I think says something about how seriously I take storytelling through drawing.
I've worked at the highest level of the industry for a long time. Now I want to share what I know.

Every lesson starts with you. We'll talk about where you are with your drawing, what you want to achieve, and build from there.
I teach by drawing alongside you, demonstrating techniques live, explaining my thinking as I work, then giving you honest feedback on your own work. Sessions cover everything from life drawing fundamentals and figure work through to concept art, illustration and storyboarding, depending on what you need.
I've spent 30 years working professionally with studios including Sony, Microsoft and Electronic Arts, and I bring that real industry experience into every session. Whether you're a complete beginner or an artist looking to go professional, I'll give you practical guidance that actually moves you forward.
Sessions are online via Zoom or in person in East London.
