About Amity
I have received a 9 at GCSE and an A at A level Latin. Having recently been a student myself, I understand first-hand how daunting the subject can initially seem. From learning vocabulary and grammar to tackling unseen translations, there can be a lot to take in, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. However, I found that with the right support and approach, Latin became much more manageable and enjoyable. I want to help students build their confidence, break down challenging topics into manageable steps, and show them that Latin is not always as scary as it first appears. I hope to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can make real progress.

I will help break down and explain difficult grammar to help students navigate the complex translations given in GCSE Latin language. I can explain my technique in writing the literature essays which help gain marks efficiently in the time pressure of the exam - of which I used to achieve 70/75 and 73/75 in my own A level Literature papers. I also plan to emphasise and encourage the use of the fascinating stylistic features in ancient literature to heighten essays.
