About Charlotte
I am a Durham University graduate in Philosophy and Theology. I attended Emanuel School in London where I achieved 9A*s and 1A at GCSE and 3As at A-level in History, Politics and Religious Studies. I attained a TEFL certificate from teaching English in China in 2018 and have also taught English to Syrian Refugees in the UK. Therefore, I have significant experience in teaching the English Language as well as essay writing and study skills. Additionally, I am well-versed in oratory. Drama and public speaking have been a notable part of my life from the age of seven. From delivering speeches to 3,000 people to more intimate performance settings, I have the ability and experience to help you foster confidence on stage and in oral expression. Please note I am very happy to teach essay writing and study skills in all humanities subjects.

My teaching method is always tailored to the student I work with. Before we start I like to discuss what type of learner the student is and what learning tactics or exercises have worked best for them in the past. I also strongly believe in building confidence as an essential part of productive and successful learning and thus always ensure the student is at the centre of my teaching programme. I find independent learning and critical thinking to be essential skills to foster as they feed into all aspects of education. In addition to tailoring classes, I ensure the lessons are structured and methodical so that the student can point to completed tasks and feel a sense of achievement at the end. This is married with creative exercises to ensure you enjoy the lessons and develop lateral thinking.
