About Alexia
I have been teaching since 2006 and specifically teaching English since 2010. I moved to France and taught middle and high school students abroad; after a couple of years I started my own English tutoring business and taught people of all ages (my youngest student was 3, my oldest 75). I have taught in private and public schools, one-on-one, regular sized classes and camps of up to 60 teens. I enjoy the challenge and I have learned that no two students are the same! It is a joy to see the evolution of learners' English; through hard work and dedication, my students have gone from timid, shy speakers to more confident and fluent conversationalists.

While I am currently completing my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Cal State LA, I have many years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I have a Bachelor's in French Literature so I know from firsthand experience what it is like to learn a foreign language, especially as an adult. I earned by Bachelor's at Rutgers, the State University of NJ. I believe in teaching in a way that is fun, engaging, and above all, meaningful - not simply academic and tied to the classroom. I try to adapt myself to my students' needs and make an effort to learn what style works best for each student.
