About Kate
I am a qualified teacher of history, geography and politics, specialising in secondary school education. These subjects are highly respected by universities because of the emphasis on critical analysis, language and essay-writing.
However, beyond helping students gain excellent grades in exams and helping them to prepare for their future, I love sharing my enthusiasm for my subjects with my students, in order to ignite their curiosity for the Humanities.

I devise lessons to suit the individual needs of my students. Therefore I strongly recommend that our first lesson take the form of a consultation to assess your current level, your target and any issues that you may want to address. Moreover, this consultation will allow us to get to know one another, and will give me a chance to assess your specific learning style in order to tailor lessons to suit you!
Example GCSE history lesson:
Starter: kahoot recall quiz
Main activity: assess high-scoring essay, followed by essay writing practice and exam technique review
Homework: draw a timeline of the main eras from the topic you are studying (i.e. if studying Medicine through Time or Crime and Punishment at GCSE, these would be Middle Ages, Early Modern, Industrial Period and the Twentieth Century). Add three major changes to each era on the timeline. We will then check this next lesson and add three major continuities.
