About Mphumzi
I am currently in my final year of a B com masters degree in economics. While I was studying towards my undergraduate and honours degree, I have spent a considerable amount of time and effort learning a wide range of subjects in the economics and management sciences faculty. That has assisted me to streamline and identify which subjects I am most passionate about, subjects which reflect my preferences and interests the most. I have been a tutor for two years and I am passionate about helping students to grasp economics as a science.
I want to help students to develop into a capable economists that can apply their skills-set into the complexity of the ever-developing economic theory. I believe that with the tutoring experience focused in economics, I can make the greatest contribution to the body of knowledge on economics.

My teaching method is student focused. I try to understand the students' concerns and specific challenges, in order to get the nature of what the student is struggling with. I then try to get their understanding of the subject matter at hand — this is where I get to shape their understanding of the subject matter. I have proven this method to be effective, because I have learnt that students mainly struggle with the manner in which they think or approach a subject matter, they do not necessarily struggle with the subject matter itself.
