About Iris
My fascination with Economics emerged from a curiosity about how markets, policies, and societal decisions shape individual and collective outcomes. This led me to pursue a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Applied Economics, providing a solid foundation in both theory and applied analysis. Over 10 years of teaching, I have helped learners from diverse backgrounds understand complex concepts, develop analytical skills, and gain confidence in applying economic reasoning to real-world problems.
I emphasize a structured, patient, and learner-focused approach. Many students initially struggle with abstract models, data interpretation, or policy implications, so I break topics into digestible parts using visual aids, practical examples, and iterative exercises. I encourage inquiry, reflection, and independent reasoning, ensuring that learners internalize concepts effectively.
Beyond teaching, I remain engaged with current economic research, policy developments, and market trends, which enriches my lessons with practical relevance. Witnessing learners progress from confusion to analytical clarity, confidence, and competence is profoundly rewarding. Supporting students to think critically, solve complex problems, and apply economics thoughtfully in real-world contexts is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.
