About Alyssa
My fascination with economics began with an interest in understanding how individual and collective decisions shape societies. This led me to pursue a B.A. in Economics, where I explored both theoretical frameworks and applied analyses. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided students in connecting abstract concepts to tangible real-world scenarios, fostering critical thinking and confidence. I approach teaching with clarity, structure, and engagement. I emphasize practical examples, case studies, and interactive exercises to ensure learners understand concepts deeply rather than memorizing formulas. Encouraging curiosity and discussion is central to my approach, helping students develop independent analytical skills. Outside teaching, I stay updated on economic developments through reading research, following policy changes, and analyzing market trends. This enriches my lessons and allows me to bring contemporary context into discussions. Teaching economics is rewarding because I see students develop the ability to reason critically, understand complex systems, and approach decisions with insight and confidence.

Economics becomes meaningful when students can connect theories to real-world situations, understanding how individual choices, markets, and policy decisions interact. My lessons focus on microeconomics, macroeconomics, supply and demand, market structures, fiscal and monetary policies, and economic modeling. I aim to develop analytical skills and critical thinking while demonstrating practical applications of economic concepts.
Lesson structure is customized to each learner’s level. Beginners focus on basic concepts, terminology, and foundational models. Intermediate learners explore elasticity, market analysis, economic indicators, and case studies. Advanced students refine their understanding through data interpretation, policy evaluation, game theory, and research-based projects.
