About Kiara
I graduated from Wyoming High School in Grand Rapids, MI in 2022. There I worked alongside special needs students studying and tutoring in Social Studies and English. I am currently in my third and senior year of my bachelor's degree at Grand Valley State University. My major is a double major within K-12 in special needs and K-3 in general education. I have a focus on ASD and Cognitive aids in special needs. I currently am a tutor and peer mentor at the college level through my university. Although I am young, I have for the last year taught full-time in a preschool classroom and have been tutoring in many schools throughout my time at Grand Valley State University.

Working with elementary students on the foundations of all things Social Studies, whether it be geography or history. As for Social Studies, it is highly integrative to personalize it for a student to make connections to a student's individual life. I prefer to do lots of hands-on and personal focus in lesson planning and connect with said students to help them succeed.
