About Jacob
I have been playing electric and acoustic guitar for over 6 years. I play mostly blues and rock based music. I have learned songs from a wide range of artists including The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, and many more. I have studied scales including the pentatonic scale, major/minor scale, blues scale, and harmonic minor scale. I graduated from Purdue in 2021 with a minor in music theory and history to help deepen my knowledge of the subject. I also am currently involved in a rock band and we are working on finishing our first album. Being in a band has been a great experience in learning how to play with other talented musicians.

I want to cater to each individual student’s needs. For beginners I would like to focus on helping them attain knowledge of chords, strumming patterns, scales, and music theory. I make my lessons integrated so that the student can see the relationship between these topics so that it helps them understand the bigger picture. I also have many exercises to teach that strengthen the student’s precision and hand-eye coordination. It is very important to me that students feel comfortable to ask me questions so that I can better cater to their needs and help them grow on their musical journey.
