About James
I am an Electronic Engineering graduate with specialty knowledge in Physics, Maths, and Computing. I am also part way through a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for teaching Secondary Physics and Maths.
I have spent 1 year as a learning assistant in an outstanding rated secondary school followed by 6 months as a trainee teacher, frequently teaching classes of around 30 students in all 3 areas of science.

First and foremost I believe lessons should be interesting and engaging. People learn new things every day of their lives through being interested in a subject and wanting to learn more. I believe all subjects can be presented in an interesting and easy to understand way if enough time is given to tailoring the delivery to the student.
I strive to always present new and difficult concepts in intuitive ways that help students to relate the content to the real world! I want students thinking and asking questions, making links to their real-life experiences and solving problems that they can see applies to the real world.
Finally, I understand that lessons on a subject that a student might struggle with can sometimes be tedious, frustrating or sometimes even boring. That is why I believe the best approach isn't to bombard with information or to recite parrot fashion. The best approach is to take it one step at a time, introduce some new information, digest that information, truly understand and use the new knowledge or concepts, then move on.
