About Luke
Luke Mironski is a PGCE-qualified educator with a diverse background across special education, mainstream classrooms, and one-to-one tutoring. He has worked as a Teaching Assistant in a specialist needs school, a Learning Support Assistant and Higher Level Teaching Assistant in mainstream settings, and as a classroom teacher experiences that have shaped a flexible, child-centered approach to learning.
Luke specializes in English, mathematics, and study skills for students aged 8–15, with particular experience supporting learners with ADHD, autism and other barriers to learning. He is known for his ability to step into a child’s world using their interests, imagination, and strengths to make learning feel personal, meaningful, and safe. Using this as the launchpad to deliver content through which he focuses on helping children develop confidence, focus, and independence as learners.
Over the past three years, Luke has supported 30 families, helping students move from below age-related expectations to tangible success, including pupils who progressed to pass UK SATs and recent English exam improvements from 38% to 44% and 45% to 56%. His practice blends academic instruction with executive-function coaching, emotional regulation strategies, and structured routines that transfer beyond lessons into lessons for life.
Now based in Manhattan with hybrid availability, Luke enjoys collaborating with families in project-based learning initiatives. His aim is always the same: to help young people take ownership of their learning and discover what they are capable of.

My Teaching Method
I adapt every lesson to the individual child. I use clear explanations, visual models, practical examples, and guided practice to make concepts accessible and meaningful. I focus on:
Understanding why methods work, not just memorising steps
Breaking complex ideas into manageable parts
Encouraging children to explain their thinking
Building confidence through small, achievable successes
I regularly adjust pace and approach depending on how the child is responding, and I place strong emphasis on emotional readiness, focus, and learning confidence.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Each lesson follows a consistent but flexible structure:
Check-in (5 minutes)
We start by settling in, reviewing confidence and focus, and briefly revisiting previous learning.
Core Learning (25–30 minutes)
I introduce or develop a key concept using clear explanations, visual strategies, and guided practice.
Independent Practice & Coaching (15–20 minutes)
The child applies what they’ve learned while I support, prompt, and adjust as needed.
Reflection & Next Steps (5 minutes)
We review progress, celebrate success, and agree on what comes next.
Lessons are engaging, focused, and designed to help children leave feeling capable and understood.
