About Mikayla
I’m someone who loves being organized but also knows how to laugh, play, and connect with children. My goal is always to create a space where children feel safe to try, learn, and enjoy the process. Outside of study and tutoring, you’ll usually find me reading, going for walks, or spending time with my family and friends. Outside of work I enjoy watching movies, spending time with friends, being crafty and listening to music.

My online sessions are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each child’s unique learning style. I work with children aged 3 to 12 who may need a bit of extra support with early literacy, or general learning skills—whether they’re building confidence, catching up, or just needing someone patient to guide them through.
I use a strengths-based approach, incorporating elements such as visual supports, hands-on activities, and practical strategies to help children feel successful and motivated. My sessions are shaped by evidence-based techniques, such as modelling, repetition, and scaffolded support, all aimed at helping children feel capable and encouraged.
Lessons typically last 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the child’s age and goals. I'm a 4th year speech pathology student, my studies have taught me so much about how kids learn, communicate, and thrive — especially when things are explained in a way that makes sense to them. I take a strengths-based, warm, and flexible approach to tutoring. Whether your child needs help with early literacy, sticking to routines, or just building learning confidence, I tailor each session to what works best for them. I have experience supporting both neurotypical and neurodiverse learners through clinical placements and nannying. I genuinely enjoy building connections with children and creating a warm, flexible online space where they feel supported and ready to learn.
