About Bryan
I am a former secondary math teacher and current school administrator with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. I specialize in helping students who feel frustrated, behind, or lacking confidence in math build confidence and mastery in algebra and foundational math skills through clear explanations, identifying and filling gaps in learning, and connecting each concept to the next.
With years of classroom experience, I understand how students learn, where they commonly struggle, and how to adapt instruction to meet individual needs. My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to develop a strong understanding that leads to long-term success.
I genuinely believe there is no such thing as a bad math student, only students who have not yet found the right teacher. My upbeat personality and sense of humor come at no additional charge.

My approach as a tutor is centered on building understanding, confidence, and consistency in math. I believe most students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they have gaps in foundational skills or have not yet had concepts explained in a way that makes sense to them. Oftentimes in math, the best way forward is to spend time looking at what is missing behind us, so I focus on identifying learning gaps, strengthening core skills, and breaking down topics into clear, manageable steps that connect each new concept to prior understanding.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material to reinforce learning and identify any remaining gaps. We then work through new concepts using guided examples, visual explanations, and real-world connections when appropriate. I gradually move students toward independent problem-solving while offering support and feedback, ending each session with a brief recap and practice strategies to build confidence between lessons.
What sets me apart is my background as both a former secondary math teacher and a current school administrator. With nearly two decades in education, I understand how students learn, where they commonly struggle, and how to adjust instruction to meet individual needs. I bring patience, encouragement, and an upbeat teaching style that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks in their learning.
My lessons are best suited for middle school and high school students, particularly those working on foundational math skills, Algebra 1, and related coursework. I specialize in helping students who feel behind, frustrated, or lacking confidence regain control of their learning and experience success in math.
