About Jacob
I am a History specialist currently employed full time as a teacher of History, teaching GCSE and A Level students. I studied History at the University of Portsmouth and completed my teacher training at the Institute of Education, currently ranked #1 globally for education. This training has allowed me to become an outstanding practitioner in the field of education with an excellent repertoire of activities that help students understand and demonstrate the fundamental skills required to succeed in History.
My teaching style is dynamic and engaging. I use a range of activities to increase attainment and target these to students' individual needs. My teaching focuses as much on crucial skills and examination technique as it does on substantive knowledge. Having taught History to students in Years 10 - 13, I have a strong understanding of the requirements of A* and Level 9 answers and have a track record of helping students achieve these grades.
Furthermore I am a charismatic and friendly individual that students enjoy learning from. I find it easy to relate to students and to discuss complex historical concepts in a way they understand. Students quickly trust my teaching and I am able to increase students' confident in their own ability, resulting in accelerated progress.
