Having taken piano in my early life but not continuing into adulthood, I have regretted for many years that I could no longer play. I am 59 now and have been enjoying lessons with Rebecca for just over a year. With a lot of fun and laughter, she has taught me more than I imagined would be possible in so short a time. She makes music theory make sense, showing how woven together the whole science is, and helping me make theory discoveries of my own -- which is the way I learn best. She also teaches me how to read a musical piece logically, identifying patterns, the way notes work together as they move through measures, and how each song utilizes theory to make its music. Her style is relaxed yet professional, serious yet personal. She has invested herself in getting to know me and how I learn. She has an uncanny way of helping me to relax when I get flustered and instills confidence in me that opens me up to learning. Then when I do something well or learn and employ a new technique, she is lavish with her excitement and praise. I am grateful that I have the privilege and joy of learning from Rebecca. I can't imagine any other teacher.

Having many virtual lessons throughout the summer allowed me to observe and listen to the encouraging and thoughtful way she teachers her students.
