As an elementary English tutor, my approach is grounded in explicit, structured instruction combined with warm, student-centered teaching. I believe children learn best when lessons are clear, engaging, and responsive to their individual needs. I use evidence-based literacy practices—such as phonics, vocabulary development, reading comprehension strategies, and writing scaffolds—to help students build strong foundations and confidence in their skills.
A typical session begins with a brief warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge. This is followed by explicit instruction on the targeted skill, where I model the strategy or concept. Students then engage in guided practice, applying the skill with support and feedback. The lesson ends with independent practice or application and a quick check-in to reflect on progress and set goals for the next session.
