About Chris
I have been an engineer for 5 years, having worked on projects in the UK and US. I have an MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Electrical Marine Engineering, and am working towards a PhD at UCL, researching energy efficiency in ships. I have previously tutored maths at A-Level and currently work as a research assistant, providing academic support to postgraduate level Marine and Power Systems engineers.

I believe it is important to understand the fundamentals of the topic and their application to the real-world, rather than learning how to answer exam questions, as the former facilitates the latter, not vice versa. To that end, our lessons will begin with addressing the core aspects of the topic and understanding how they apply to real-world problems. Applying content to the real-world allows you to internalise it and makes it trivial to answer questions on the topic on exam day. I aim to make the subject interesting and go beyond just theory. Passion for a subject comes when you understand the 'why' of what it is you're learning.
